Enriching the Lives of Children in Foster Care Since 1999

Bridge the Gap, a 501c3 non-profit, was established in 1999 by a caring social worker, Peggy Hays, and a concerned community member, Tauni Hemminger.

BTG is a 100% volunteer organization.

BTG has helped many children in foster care to experience "firsts":

    Tutoring

    Camps

    Therapy

    Sports Activity Fees

    Music and Art Classes

    New Clothing

    Orthodontics

Additionally, BTG funds miscellaneous items, such as graduation costs, haircuts, ASB cards, college application fees, and backpacks. We also accept new clothing donations for all ages that we deliver to the DCYF.

Often, children come into the foster care system with only the clothes on their backs. There is no time or opportunity for the child to collect their favorite book, teddy bear, or favorite doll. Important and familiar things are left behind. Frequently, the child must leave in a flurry of chaos, often after a long period of profound neglect.

BTG has been and continues to be privately funded. Your donations have helped to soften the heartache of placement away from home and to improve the lives of thousands of children who enter the foster care system.
